TIMO Results

Thailand International Mathematical Olympiad (TIMO) is an annual Mathematical Olympiad competition organised by the Thailand Mathematics Society. TIMO provides an opportunity for ALL students with strong interests in Mathematics to participate in Mathematical Olympiad competition where recently our brilliant students took part and got awarded with one Gold and eight Bronze medals, also there were six Merit awards. UWIS students led by Mr. Melisbek Gapparov were the only representatives from Kyrgyzstan who could compete with the rest sixteen countries (1500 contestants). The Final Round was held in Phuket, Thailand on 5th-8th April,2019. The Gold medalist of the competition Ilim Stankulov will represent Kyrgyzstan in the World International Mathematical Olympiads(WIMO) in Tokyo, Japan in December. The school is excited for such olympiads and prouds of every single one who participates there!

International Literacy Day at UWIS

8 September was declared international literacy day by UNESCO on 26 October 1966 at 14th session of UNESCO’s General conference. It was celebrated for the first time in 1967. Its aim is to highlight the importance of literacy to individuals, communities and societies. Celebrations take place in several countries. On Monday, September 10th our school celebrated an International Literacy Day. It was celebrated by the primary and lower secondary school students. We had various activities during the whole day, played games, drove different pictures and even ate ice cream. Art therapy activities were conducted by our beloved psychologists and homeroom teachers.

Nurdoolot Omuraliev (Graduate) Bronze Medal IPhO

The International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) is an annual competition in physics for secondary school students, aiming at promoting physics and the development of international contacts in physics education. It involves individual theoretical and experimental competitions in physics. The IPhO 1^st edition took place in Warsaw, Poland, in 1967, with 5 participating countries. Since then, IPhO has grown to worldwide coverage involving more than 85 countries and 400 competitors.

Our graduate, Nurdoolot Omuraliev, along with other students from Kyrgyzstan, participated in 49th prestigious competition named IPhO( International Physics Olympiad) in Lisbon, Portugal from 21st to 29th of July. The national team could win the Bronze medal! Congratulations!!!!

Hong Kong International Mathematics Olympiad 2018 UWIS Winners

Hong Kong International Olympiad was held in Hong Kong from 31st of August to 3rd of September 2018. HKIMO , is named as Hong Kong International Mathematical Olympiad, is developed by former Hong Kong Mathematical Olympiad Team Leader Mr Wong Tin Chun. The objective to develop HKIMO is to promote Mathematical Olympiad all over the world. The examination paper consists of 5 main topics: *Logical Thinking, *Arithmetic (Kindergarten / Primary Section) / Algebra(Secondary Section), *Number Theory, *Geometry, *Combinatorics. Participating regions; 12 countries including Kyrgyzstan, Singapore, Ukraine, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Myanmar, Iran, Bulgaria, Hong Kong, Philippines. From Central Asia only Kyrgyzstan participated, and from Kyrgyzstan only our school UWIS joined. UWIS Team; Raushan Tolonbaeva, Ramazan Tolonbaev,Peri Duishenova, Emir Sagynaliev, Abdurahim Baktybek uulu, Jibek Jyrgalbek kyzy, Aida Akaeva, Zulal Gursoy, Nilufer Ekiz accompanied by Gulshan Almasbekova. Results of HKIMO: Abdurahim Baktybek uulu – bronze and World star(for best result) Ramazan Tolonbaev – bronze Peri Duishenova – bronze Aida Akaeva – bronze The rest students received Merit awards.
